Ann Bell, MD, is a board-certified otolaryngologist seeing adult and pediatric patients at ENT & Allergy Associates of South Georgia in Valdosta. She provides medical and surgical care for ear, nose, and throat disorders, with particular interests in pediatric ENT care, ear and sinus conditions, and difficult-to-diagnose symptoms.

Her career includes private ENT practice in Wisconsin, Iowa, and Minnesota, along with time at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Before entering civilian practice, she trained and served in the U.S. Air Force.

Why Dr. Bell Chose South Georgia

The chance to serve a growing community brought Dr. Bell to Valdosta. The practice team helped make the decision feel right.

“What really drew me to ENT & Allergy Associates of South Georgia was the opportunity to serve a growing and vibrant community like Valdosta,” Dr. Bell said. “There’s a strong sense of community here, and I’ve truly enjoyed getting to know the people and families we serve.”

She also values the way the practice team works together. “There’s a genuine commitment to providing excellent care, supporting one another, and making a positive difference for our patients,” she said.

Care That Starts With Listening

For Dr. Bell, building trust begins with giving patients room to explain what they are experiencing.

“My approach always starts with listening,” she said. “I want patients to feel comfortable sharing what they’re experiencing and know that their concerns are being heard.”

Once she understands the concern, Dr. Bell explains the symptoms, diagnosis, and treatment options in plain language. She also makes space for questions.

“I encourage questions and want patients to feel involved in their care, so we can make decisions together and choose the treatment plan that best fits their needs,” she said. “Most importantly, I hope patients leave feeling cared for, respected, and reassured that they’re in good hands.”

Pediatric, Ear, Sinus, and Complex ENT Care

Dr. Bell has a particular interest in caring for children. “They usually are fun and have an interesting take on what’s happening in their world,” she said.

She also treats ear and sinus conditions, including patients who may benefit from surgery. Complex or difficult-to-diagnose symptoms are another part of the work she enjoys.

“Every patient and situation is different, and I find it rewarding to dig deeper, identify what may be causing their symptoms, and help find a solution that improves their quality of life,” Dr. Bell said.

Lessons From the U.S. Air Force

Dr. Bell served as a Flight Surgeon in the U.S. Air Force, with military assignments in Maryland, Mississippi, Texas, and Germany. Her work in aviation medicine included a flight aboard NASA’s Zero-G aircraft.

“My experience as a Flight Surgeon and physician in the U.S. Air Force made all the difference in shaping the physician I am today,” she said. “It gave me a deep understanding of what it truly means to serve and to be part of a team in which everyone knows their job and performs it to the best of their ability.”

That service now means putting patients first. Dr. Bell also carries forward the teamwork, accountability, and steady decision-making her military experience required.

“Those lessons continue to guide how I care for my patients and work alongside my team at ENT of South Georgia every day,” she said.
